Prominent Greek Americans To Be Honored At AHI Gala Dinner

Jack Valenti to Present Award to James Gianopulos,
Fox Film Chief
WASHINGTON, DC—The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) is
set to honor a distinguished roster of Greek Americans at the
28th Anniversary Hellenic Heritage Achievement and National Public
Service Awards gala dinner to be held on March 15 at the Capital
Hilton in Washington, DC. This year's honorees include:
- Demetrios A. Boutris, California Corporations Commissioner
and Special Counsel to the Governor of California
- Ambassador Clay Constantinou (Ret.), Dean of the School
of Diplomacy and International Relations, Seton Hall
University
- James N. Gianopulos, Chairman of Fox Filmed Entertainment
and former president of Twentieth Century Fox International
- Charles Moskos, Professor of Sociology at Northwestern
University (Evanston, IL), leading military sociologist
in the U.S.
and author of Greek Americans: Struggle and Success,
and New Directions
in Greek American Studies
- Christine M. Warnke, Ph.D., humanitarian and community
activist
Special guest presenting the Hellenic Heritage Achievement
Award to James Gianopulos will be Jack Valenti,
Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer of the Motion Picture Association.
John C. Metaxas, former CNN financial news reporter and Chief
Corporate Communications and Government Affairs Officer at
E*TRADE, will be the master of ceremonies for the gala event.
This year's award recipients hail from a diverse range of professions,
but are linked by their important career achievements and by
their contributions to the Greek American community and the community
at-large. The Hellenic Heritage Achievement and National Public
Service Awards Dinner recognizes the significant accomplishments
of these prominent Greek Americans.
